“I want to put the example out there that firefighting isn’t just a man’s line of work. Women can get out there and be successful in the field as well.”

When Tiffany Weaver isn’t working at Vassar Brothers Medical Center as a phlebotomist, she dedicates her time to the Highland Hose Company No. 1. She recently became the first woman to drive a fire engine in Highland’s history! “This is a big deal for me. In my department, there are very few women.”

There is no such thing as a typical day in the line of duty for Tiffany. When her pager goes off, the adrenaline kicks in and she is ready to help people in any way possible. “I couldn’t be more proud to give back to my community.”
