Have you heard the story of Creative Collections Gifts?

As a high school junior working 2 jobs, living out on my own, and with no real future plans, my company was born. Balancing three plates of fish fry re-orders is where it all began. As the woman I served food to many times noticed the necklace that I was wearing she commented on its beauty. I excitedly thanked her followed by telling her that I had made it in my high school art class. Throughout Marilyn's visit, she seemed more and more interested in the piece. As I raced through the tiny restaurant, she stopped me asking how much I would sell it for. You can imagine my surprise, for a few reasons. First off, I didn't think that the piece was really all that worthy of being sold, secondly, it was currently hanging around my overworked, very warm, "glistening", fish fry serving, waitress neck. She insisted that I give her a price, so I threw out a price of $15.00. This, I thought would pay for me to make two more. Marilyn left the restaurant with the necklace that Friday night, and wore it often as she returned over and over for food, and to customize jewelry to gift to others with me. She bought the next two items I made, and then the four items that those sales made possible for me to create as well. Slowly many other customers in the restaurant took notice and purchased from me. I began dabbling in Craft shows in the summer of 2012. By November 2013 I was setting tables up weekly in a shopping mall to proudly display my jewelry. I soon grew into a mall cart, I was open 7 days a week, and expanded to offer many new items. In January 2015, life brought my business and I a few hours North to Traverse City, MI. From there I have grown from a mall cart, to building my own gorgeous kiosk, to adding engraving services to my business. I still attend many events around Michigan, sell online, and also still have my store in the Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City, MI. Although I did not know my path when I sold that first piece of jewelry, I am glad that I was blessed with Marilyn, the woman who loved my creativity. In my short 26 years of life, I have learned that I can accomplish anything that I set my mind to if I back it with hard work, determination, passion, honesty, a good plan and a lot of faith in myself.
