PUPPIES THAT ARE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD ARE LOCATED IN OUR PUPPIES/SMALL-MEDIUM BREED ALBUM:
**Dogs are listed in order of available date, therefore the most urgent dogs are in order from top to bottom of the album. Owner Surrenders become immediately urgent and are therefore moved to the top of each album.**
DISCLAIMER: THIS PAGE IS NOT RUN BY MORENO VALLEY ANIMAL SERVICES. WE ARE INDEPENDENT VOLUNTEERS WHO DO NOT MEET THE ANIMALS NOR WORK AT THE SHELTER. We post videos or photos that visitors, volunteers or the shelter itself provides to us. It is the responsibility of the rescues and adopters to request and verify all information (medical, behavioral, etc.) with the shelter prior to adopting or rescuing an animal. We take no responsibility as we are not an organization, but rather a small group of caring, independent volunteers that started the page to provide a networking platform to help the animals at this shelter.
Rescues who save animals are responsible for collecting their pledges. We are happy to post a Paypal & mailing address/donation info if the rescue provides to us via a PM with a freedom photo. Generally when a pledger offers a pledge on an animal, it is for a 501c3 or state registered rescue group, however it is always the discretion of the pledger if they wish to donate to an independent rescuer.
REGISTER YOUR IP AT THE SHELTER WEBSITE UNDER "SEARCH FOR PETS". Pets are listed by age. Search for the pet you wish to place an IP on, click the photo, then "Click here to Indicate an Interest in this animal"
** IMPORTANCE OF REGISTERING AS AN INTERESTED PARTY **
IF ANY ONE IS SERIOUSLY INTERESTED Please place an IP online BEFORE the AVAILABLE DATE of the pet, as per our description or Petharbor. Calling into the shelter to tell them you are interested is NOT the same as registering interest on the pet online. RESCUES ONLY: EMAIL RESCUE@MOVAL.ORG If the available date has past, you MUST email the shelter. Many animals lose their lives as no interest by the shelter was ever known of. INTEREST ON FACEBOOK DOES NOT EQUATE TO INTEREST KNOWN TO THE SHELTER - they do not run this Page, monitor the threads or use this Page to register interest or know an animal is being networked or has rescue interest.
***PLEASE NOTE*** Rescues generally cannot see line tags, nor does our page. If you line tag a group that is set up on Facebook as a page (i.e. mention their name in a comment, i.e. @Friends of Moreno Valley Shelter Animals or @Dog Rescue), they will NOT receive a notification of your comment (nor do we when you mention us in comments). Only individuals with personal FB pages receive line tag notifications. To network to a rescue, send the thread of the pet to them on their page via a PM.
FOSTERS ARE NEEDED FOR RESCUES TO SAVE LIVES! If you live in Southern CA & can foster a pet, please post your name & city you live in on the thread of the pet you are willing to help. Pets with foster offers have a much better chance of being rescued. If you live close to the shelter, please contact a lead tech at the shelter and sign up to become a Moreno Valley Shelter foster home for pets they may make available for foster.
******** Please note: The following Transporters, Boarding Facilities, and Veterinarians are provided as an informational resource only. It is up to rescues to complete their due diligence and check rates with one of the below options they seek to use ********

To become a rescue partner, please download the rescue partner agreement from the MVAS website (see below) along with their pull form. The pull form must be emailed to the shelter for each animal you wish to pull (a puller does not to be present at the shelter - you can email them a pull form from an authorized pulling representative from the rescue then designate whomever you wish to pick up the animal, noted as the transporter on the pull form). To become approved, send the application/agreement, your IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter and pull form to: RESCUE@MOVAL.ORG

OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTION INTERESTS:
Thank you for your interest in saving one of the Moreno Valley dogs. Friends of Moreno Valley Shelter Animals is a group of a few volunteers who post the shelter's animals. Our page serves not only as a platform to network the animals, but also to allow rescues, fosters, transporters and networkers to connect with each other. We suggest that you try contacting a local rescue to your area to assist you, as well as post on the thread of the dog you are seeking to rescue who you are, location, and specifically what assistance is needed (i.e. pull, vetting and boarding, transport or if you will handle the transport, etc). Many rescues are on our threads and may see your request, as well as networkers, and may be able to assist in connecting you with a local rescue who is in the position to help. As a note, typically the funds necessary to save the dog from the shelter -boarding, transport to boarding, vetting, etc. - are the responsibility of the out of state rescue, but you would work that out directly with local rescue that assists you. We highly recommend out of area adopters have a local rescue to their area they are working with because sometimes newly adopted animals do not work out in their new homes. If you adopt an out of state or out of area pet, should it now work out in your home, that animal should have a back up plan and never have to face entering a shelter again. If you have a local rescue to back you up if it does not work out, you have created a safety net for the pet, which they deserve.
NOTE: DRAMA, COMMENTS, BASHING OR COMMENTARIES THAT TAKE NETWORKING AWAY ON AN ANIMALS THREAD WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON OUR THREADS. RESPONSIBLE PARTIES WILL BE BLOCKED AND/OR REPORTED.3
