Happy Thursday and happy December 1st!! We hope this week has been kind to you and that you are blessed with grace to finish out 2016 strong. Today we used Ashwagandha and Sandstone to assist us in our opening ceremony.
Sandstone is, as the name would hint, a stone of sand. And like the sand, the colors can range from creamy white to tan to rusty brown. It is a stone of creativity and is good for building and strengthening close and solid relationships with others. It can be beneficial for combatting distractions of the mind, balancing one’s reality and promoting clarity of thought and sight. Sandstone can be used in the treatment of wounds and broken bones and has been known to help with the improving eyesight, and restoring thinning hair.
Ashwagandha is one of the most powerful herbs in Ayurvedic healing, has been used since ancient times for a wide variety of conditions, and is most well-known for its restorative benefits. In Sanskrit Ashwagandha means “the smell of a horse,” indicating that the herb imparts the vigor and strength of a stallion, and has traditionally been prescribed to help people strengthen their immune system after an illness. Ashwagandha is frequently referred to as “Indian ginseng” because of its rejuvenating properties, even though botanically, ginseng and Ashwagandha are unrelated. It is also known to help with stress, fatigue, lack of energy, and difficulty concentrating. Ashwagandha can help alleviate these symptoms and support an energetic and rejuvenating sense of wellbeing.
